This last couple of weeks have been a whirl wind of emotions. My thoughts are wrapped around people in my life. Each person touches your life in one way or another. Each person you meet could leave a lasting impression on your life. We said good bye to a very good man a couple of weeks ago. He played a huge role in my son's life. I will forever be grateful for a Heavenly Father that knew exactly what my son needed when he needed it. Thank You Bishop Max Nicholas for making a lasting impression on my families life. I will forever be grateful for that!
So I am now ready to embark on the challenge to loose weight. The last 2 months I have set up my mind to get ready for the life changing times. I have tried to talk myself into just one more doughnut, one more bowl of ice cream one more who knows what. Well I don't want to give any of that up so I have been trying to figure out how I can still eat that stuff and loose weight. So here are the things I am going to try again. This time though I am going to write about it and see if my writing will help me through my food addiction.
First what I have done is got on the scale again. To my sadness I weigh more than I care to weigh and my first thought was to say oh forget it. The weight I am now is my heaviest. I was once this weight before and thought I would never let myself get to this weight again. Well here I am at that weight again. Instead of getting depressed about it. I am going to hit it head on.
Get a note book and write down our weight, write down all your sizes. That is what I am doing. I weighed this morning and measured all different sizes. Figure out the day that is good for you to start your journey. I decided today is my day. If you count calories then get an app on your phone. I like my fitness pal. I have one on my phone now that I am going to try called S Health. I do like that it keeps track of my steps as I walk through out the day. (as long as I keep my phone with me) I am still learning how to use the calorie counter. I plan to learn as much as I can to use it to help me. I like the thought of checking in with someone. I don't have anyone to check in with (I can not check in with my husband because I value my marriage to much. Hahaha) Anyways, I figure this blog will be my check in. If you want to check in with me I set up a Facebook page called Never Give up maybe we can check in on that. Or if you have a friend to check in with then find someone to encourage you and let you talk to them. I found that talking about your issues can help you work through your struggles. I know that has helped me in the past. Also when you go to the grocery store start in the produce section. Buy the healthy stuff first. If you buy frozen veggies then go there first. Get your healthy food first. Then decide if you have enough money for the junk. I don't need to tell you what junk food is, we all know what it is.
Recap
For this week figure we will buy healthy food first, we will weigh in and measure all the body parts we want to shrink. haha most of all find a way to make this fun and enjoyable, not just another task to get rid of a dear friend. I want to make losing weight and getting healthy my new best friend!
We can do this, NEVER GIVE UP!!

You can totally do this! You may be interested in something called flexible dieting. I just recently heard about it and I'm intrigued. It started with body builders and the idea is that you can eat whatever as long as it fits in your macros (carbs, fat, protein). Check out healthyeater.com if you're interested. It's got a lot of good information about it. As part of trying this new way of eating I signed up for myfitnesspal and have been using it. If you're on there, we can be friends and check in with each other. Honestly, I think just tracking all of the food you eat can make a huge difference in weight loss. Usually something doesn't feel worth eating if it's staring me in the face in writing.
ReplyDeleteI use myfitness pal as well. I love it. I have S health and runtastic on my phone as well. I love reading what you write. You are an inspiration to me, and always give me plenty to reflect on, and see how it applies to my life.
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you on this journey! I know you can do this. I started the addiction recovery program last fall and have been able to lose 35 pounds. If I can do it you can too!
ReplyDeleteProud of you Lena. I'm here, you can check in with me, always! Dieting sucks! Michael and I have been working hard in just trying to be healthy. One day at a time. Sometimes, one meal at a time. Proud of you! ❤️
